A Perth mother accused of murdering her two daughters at their Madeley home has made a brief appearance in court after being transferred from hospital to Bandyup Women’s Prison.
Milka Djurasovic allegedly killed Mia, 10, and Tiana, 6, on October 25, 2019, before her husband, Nenad Djurasovic, arrived home from work and discovered the horrific scene.
THESE TWO BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN MURDERED BY THEIR MOTHER
Neighbours called police after the father was heard screaming on the front lawn of his house, and Ms Djurasovic was later located by a Hillarys officer at a Kallaroo beach car park.
Police have not revealed how the children died.
Their mother, a registered nurse, appeared in the Stirling Gardens Magistrate Court on Wednesday via video link from Bandyup Women’s Prison.
The 38-year-old sat with her hand gripping her forearm and wore a purple, prison-issued T-shirt.
She spoke only to quietly reply “thank you” when the magistrate adjourned her case to a committal mention on April 29.
It was the third time Ms Djurasovic had appeared in court since the deaths of her two daughters, with a previous court appearance held via video link from a Perth hospital where she was recovering.
The horrific event was the fourth family tragedy in the past two years in Western Australia.
In September 2018 Anthony Robert Harvey, 25, brutally murdered his wife Mara, 41, his three-year-old daughter Charlotte, two-year-old twins Beatrix and Alice and his mother-in-law Beverley Quinn in an inner-city Perth suburb.
Teancum Vernon Petersen-Crofts, then 19, stands accused of murdering his mother Michelle Petersen, 48, his 15-year-old sister Bella and eight-year-old brother Rua in July 2018.
And in the biggest mass shooting since the Port Arthur massacre in 1996, police found a mother, grandmother and four children slain on a rural property near Margaret River, in WA’s South West in 2018.
