Syringe-wielding bandit on the loose in Mandurah in Australia

Police believe the same man may be responsible for a string of robberies and attempted robberies near Mandurah over the weekend.

A man fitting the same description has been reportedly arming himself with a blood-filled syringe, threatening staff at a deli, a pharmacy and a service station within a 24-hour period.

About 9am yesterday, the man entered the Seabreeze Deli in Mandurah, making threats and demands of the employee behind the counter.

Police said the man told the young attendant that he had AIDS before fleeing with a sum of cash.

About 2am today, a man fitting the same description threatened staff at the BP service station on Mandurah Terrace with a blood-filled syringe.

Staff refused to comply with his demands for cash, and he left empty-handed.

The man also attempted to rob the Nightingale Pharmacy in Erskine yesterday afternoon.

The man is described as being dark-skinned, early 20s, about 172cm tall with a medium build and wearing dark clothing.
